Why Does My Cartridge Clog?
Oil based vaporizer cartridges can get clogged when the viscosity of the oil in the cartridge changes, due to changes in temperature. Naturally, when oil is exposed to higher temperatures, it will change to become more fluid; when exposed to colder temperatures, the thicker it becomes. A cartridge exposed to warmer temperatures and cooler temperatures in short periods of time can cause oil to slightly thicken and block the airway to the mouth piece. If this happens:
- Warm the cartridge by holding it upright in your hand for a few minutes. Then try pulling on the cartridge to open the airway. *You may need to pull slightly harder on the mouthpiece to force the airway open. Make sure the battery is not on when opening the airway.* You will hear a small 'pop' noise when the airway blockage is opened.
- After warming, try gently blowing into the mouthpiece to open the airway.
As mentioned in the storage and care article, cold temperatures are fine for storage as long as you do not store them in a freezer. This can introduce moisture into the oil which can cause problems. Storing cartridges upright and in a cool dark place will prevent oil from entering the mouthpiece and keep the oil from oxidizing. Proper storage can prevent damage and preserve the quality of cannabis oil.
Why Does My Oil Look Discolored?
Did your cartridge that you bought last week suddenly become darker? Oil that is exposed to light will cause the oxidation of the bioactive compounds in cannabis oil, just like with cannabis flower (see storage and care). Oxidation of the active compounds in the oil will cause them to darken and degrade. Darker oil is still safe to consume. However the potency of the oil will lessen due to the oxidation.

- Click the button on the battery 5 times to turn the battery on or off.
- Click the button 3 times to change the voltage of the battery.
- 3.6v = Green
- 3.8v = Blue
- 4.0v = Red
